FAQ

  1. Can I use Hotspot/Tethering?

    There may be some restrictions depending on the local carrier, but it is generally possible.

  2. When does my data plan begin?

    Your eSIM plan activates immediately upon connecting to a supported network. For example, if you purchase a 1-day plan and activate it at 9:00 AM, it will remain valid for 24 hours until 9:00 AM the next day.

  3. When does the unlimited data plan reset?

    For unlimited data plans, the reset occurs based on the time you activated it that day. For example, if you activated it at 9:00 AM, it will reset at 9:00 AM the next day.

Example Supported Devices

  • iPhone: eSIM supported on models released after September 2018 (from iPhone XS).
    Settings → Cellular → Available if "Add eSIM" or "Add Cellular Plan" appears.
  • Galaxy: eSIM supported on models released after March 2020 (from S20, Z Flip, Z Fold).
    Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Available if "Add eSIM" appears.
  • Xiaomi: eSIM supported on models released after October 2022 (from 12T Pro, Redmi Note 14 Pro).
    Settings → SIM cards & mobile networks → Available if the eSIM toggle appears.
  • Google: eSIM supported from Pixel 2 onward.
  • Huawei: Supported on select models such as P40, Mate 30.

Physical-SIM-only models and phones sold in China may not support eSIM, so please double-check before purchasing.

How to Use eSIM (Initial Setup)

iOS (Apple)

  1. Settings → Cellular → Add Cellular Plan
  2. Scan the QR code to install the eSIM

Android

  1. Save the QR code to your photo album
  2. Load the QR code in the eSIM settings screen

Troubleshooting and detailed settings

iPhone

Option 1. QR Code Setup (Recommended)

  1. Open the Camera app and scan the QR code. When the "Cellular Plan Detected" notification appears, tap it.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
If you received the QR code by email or in a browser (iOS 17.4 or later): press and hold the QR code → tap "Add eSIM" → tap "Continue" → tap "Add Cellular Plan".
Make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi. The QR code must be clear and not blurry or damaged.

Option 2. Manual Registration

  1. Go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM.
  2. When asked how to add an eSIM, tap "Enter Details Manually".
  3. Enter the following information:
    SM-DP+ Address: rsp1.cmlink.com
    Activation Code: ED6941E759AF402FAC547D75EAA36D73
  4. Tap Next and follow the instructions to activate.
  5. Confirm the eSIM installation in Settings → Cellular.
Use manual setup when your QR code cannot be scanned. Double-check the spelling and format of the SM-DP+ address and code.

How to Check Installation
Go to Settings → Cellular → SIM. You can check the added eSIM listed at the bottom.

If Installation Fails
Make sure Wi-Fi is connected (you cannot register while on a call or in Airplane Mode).
Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings, then try again.

How to Change SIM Name
Go to Settings → Cellular → tap the SIM → tap the Cellular Plan Label. You can select a preset name or enter a custom name (e.g., "Korea Trip").

eSIM Local Activation Settings
  1. Go to Settings → Cellular, select your travel eSIM (with no phone number) → set Cellular Data to that eSIM → turn Allow Cellular Data Switching OFF.
  2. Tap your main SIM → turn Data Roaming OFF.
  3. Tap your travel eSIM → set Voice & Data to LTE or 4G → turn Data Roaming ON.

Galaxy (Android)

Option 1. QR Code Scan (Recommended)

  1. Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager.
  2. Tap Add eSIM.
  3. Select Scan QR Code.
  4. Point your camera at the QR code provided by your eSIM provider.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
Make sure Wi-Fi is connected. Use a clear, undamaged QR code. After installation, the eSIM will appear under SIM Manager.

Option 2. Manual Input

  1. Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager.
  2. Tap Add eSIM.
  3. Select Enter Activation Code Manually.
  4. Enter the following activation string:
    LPA:1$rsp1.cmlink.com$ED6941E759AF402FAC547D75EAA36D73
  5. Tap Next and complete the setup.
This method is useful if the QR code is unavailable or fails to scan. Double-check for typos when entering the code. Restart your phone if activation doesn't complete.

How to Check Installation
Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → eSIM1. You can confirm the name "eSIM1" and the carrier information.

If Installation Fails

Go to Settings → General → Reset → Reset Mobile Network Settings → tap "Reset Settings", then try again.

How to Change SIM Name
Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → tap eSIM1 → tap the Name or Edit icon. Enter a new name (e.g., "Korea Trip").
